Pathway For Student Success: Strategic Planning 2030
1. Instructional Model Task Force led by Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Anna Holmgreen is focusing on defining the Alice model of instruction. A large part of that has begun with the Portrait of a Graduate committee which is made up of community members, staff members, parents, and students. The Portrait of a Graduate focuses on the qualities that make our graduates primed for success in today's competitive world and reflects the district's mission and vision in terms of student outcomes.

2. Effective Workforce Task Force (Director of Human Resources)
This task force concentrates on teacher recruitment and retention along with professional development and training. They look at career pathways from Master Teachers to Instructional Facilitators. Other topics include competitive salaries, accountability, child care and affordable housing for staff.

3. Safe and Secure Task Force (Willie Ruiz, Chief Operations Officer)
The safety of Alice ISD students is a priority. The safe and secure task force prepares emergency operations implemented in our district through standard response protocol, action plans and drills. They also establish county and city partnerships, student and student culture and restorative discipline practices.

4. Community Partners Task Force (Ofelia Hunter, Public Information Officer and Parent Involvement Coordinator)
Through varies means of communication, partnerships are reached through parental involvement such as activities, events and training. Communication involves public information services, social media and marketing tools. Other partners include rapport with higher education, businesses, and city and county leaders. This task force will assist to spearhead the Alice ISD Education Foundation to better serve our teachers and staff.

5. Facilities Task Force (David Flores, Chief Finance Officer)
The Master Facilities Planning will take us into 2030 by implementing efficient business policies, procedures and practices. Financial oversight is imperative and staffing patterns. The task force oversees inventory acquisitions and control and property management.

  • Wysocki Appointed by Governor
    Wysocki Appointed by Governor
    Governor Greg Abbott appointed Ashley Bradford Wysocki to the 254th Judicial District Court for a term set to expire on December 31, 2020, or until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
    Ashley Wysocki of Dallas is an attorney at Fox Rothschild LLP. Wysocki attended Alice ISD schools.
    She is a member of the American Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, and the State Bar of Texas and its Family Law Section. She is a former member of the Lubbock County Young Lawyers and West Texas Bankruptcy Association. Additionally, she is a former member of the American Red Cross South Plains Regional Chapter Board of Directors. Wysocki received a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor degree from Texas Tech University.
    This appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.

    Alvarez Receives Engineering Leadership Award
    Joe W. Alvarez was the recipient of the Professional Service To Students Award at the Annual Civil Engineering Conference (CECON). This award is conferred upon an engineering leader for meritorious service to the Texas Section by actively participating in one or more of the Texas-Mexico Regional Conference’s Student Chapters.
    He is currently Grand Knight of St. Joseph Council #3169 of the Knights of Columbus and Faithful Navigator of St. Joseph Fourth Degree Assembly #1121. In addition, Joe serves as a board member of the Texas A&I Alumni Association, Advisory Member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity-Beta Epsilon Alumni Association, Hub City Association, Inc. and board member of the Jim Wells County Historical Commission. Alvarez is also a graduate of Alice High School, Class of 2005.

Notice of Public Hearing of Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR)
The district will hold a public hearing for discussion of the TAPR report for Alice ISD.
The hearing will be held on February 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the board room of the district office.

The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and socioeconomic status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics.
